i had a new mirena coil fitted last tuesday, i was in alot of pain but thought it was all due to the new coil needing time to settle. The pain got alot worse so i went to see the doctor yesterday, she cannot find the threads!!!! she thinks the coil could have possibly traveled into my uterus, now got to have emergency scan (still waiting to hear from hos!) to see where the coil is. does anyone know how they remove the coil if they cant pull on the threads?

Omg that is not good! I've never had the coil so can't give you any advice sorry.

i assume you have to have both scans so they can see exactly where the coil is! they might have given u one a little quicker though.

has this put you off having the coil now?as you have had probs before havnt you.

yes would have been nice if it was sooner! the last coil i had came out on its own, it had been in for a year, doc not sure why it came out but said it can happen, i do want to stay with the coil though, as i didnt have any probs, it takes a little while to settle but was perfect, i didnt have periods with the coil so that was a big bonus, hopefully they can get this one out and put a new one in.
