AAArgh, ive just typed half a novel and my computer crashed!! Start again. Green parenting. I try to be as green as poss and I always recycle plastics, paper etc, but i must admit i can be lazy when i have to go out of my way to the recycling plant, like to take the glass bottles there. The tip is about 10 mins drive and i just aint got the time. And im not keen to leave glass collecting in the house in case Rohan gets to it. I try to be energy efficient and close doors and windows, switch the heating down etc, turn lights off when we leave the room, and i try to always hang my washing out to dry. So i dont feel too guilty. The bin men wouldnt empty my blue recycling bin last week, cause there was a PLASTIC carrier bag in it! WTF? |

Its a nightmare isnt it? I know its for the benefit of our earth and future generations etc, but you have to wash the recycling out first FFS! Like us mothers dont have enough to do... |

we dont even have recylcing collection in our flats. they havent given us bins or anything!! And isnt driving to the nearest recycle point kinda defeating the object? i mean yeah im doing good by recycling but then im driving more which means im enhancing my carbon foot print! Cant win! |

We had the bin men refuse to empty our blue bin the other day because of a plastic bag - DH had been in a rush running late for work and just pulled the whole bag from the kitchen bin (we have just got one of the ones devided in half so normal rubbish goes in one side & then the glass & plastic in the other) he didnt think much of it, but the bin man wouldnt take it because it not recyclable? We took it out but they still wouldnt take it so I called the council and they sent them back to collect the next day though!

Thats just being awkward lol A plastic carrier bag! Some people just arent happy with anything! I try to recycle everything too, paper, glass, plastic and tins! So i think im doing my bit for the environment so far so good!

I hate the bin people IS a plastic bag not plastic? Last time i checked it was, and the clue is in the name PLASTIC bag, so therefore why isnt it ok to put it in yer green bin! Im sick of them, I predict a riot... ![[smilie=2guns.gif]](./images/smilies/2guns.gif "2guns")

We've never phoned the council before but OH just saw red and was so annoyed by it all
