I have been to the docs again today, as I am having real probs with my stomach since the minky moo was born. Basically, I had a section, and there were probs with my stomach muscles afterwards, in that I have been left with a "double stomach", really hard to explain what that looks like, but its not pretty. My stomach hangs over my knickers and is uneven on both sides, not attractive, but more than that, it hurts when I am training. As I am in the military we have alot of physical training, and its impacting on that. When I run it hits the skin underneath and causes it to get sore, stops me in my tracks and even if I strap it together, it escapes I try to make a joke of it, but the doc said today that I am to be referred to a surgeon to have an "apronectomy" or "tummy tuck" as its more commonly known. My bmi has to be about 25, and its 27 at the mo, but I have just lost another 8lbs so hopefully that should go asap. The more weight I lose, the more unsightly it gets. But after doing sit ups and exercises for 2 years, it looks worse than ever, so Im gonna have to have it sorted. Cant say I am enthusiastic about it (as its a big op) but I hate the way it is, not just cos it looks awful, but its a pain in my everyday life, esp during exercise. I must admit thou, the idea of surgery makes me cr*p myself, and Ive had a caesarean lol!

My tummy's a bit like that but noone's ever offered me a tummy tuck. Can I move to your GP? Sounds very understanding. Granted though I don't go training or anything even vaguely more energetic than going to the cupboard to get another choclate biscuit - so perhaps that's why!

hopefully your tummy tuck will sort out the problems that you are having- you will probably get an enviable tummy afterwards.

Yeah he was really good, but i have had many consultations in the last year to see if anything else can be done. Its awful, you can see it through my clothes, and they dont fit properly as they are big on the waist, but tight on the tummy. I think they are only doing it cos it impacts on my physical "fit to fight" if you like, and they have to do somethine cos its painful. Not purely cosmetic, but I must admit i am happy that the appearance will be loads better, and may help my confidence. Just not looking forward to the op - shouldnt google things

You've had a c-section, and that IS a major operation on it's own, so you have an idea as to what to expect beforehand, during, and afterwards. Granted, it's not something that I know a lot about, but I'm guessing the success rate is very high. If it is, I don't think there is really any cause for concern (besides tha fact that you'll be cut open again, of course). You'll probably feel a lot better for it in the long run, especially, if you continue with the exercise. It will boost your confidence completely, and make you feel more like your old self again, if that's what you want of course. What's the recovery time after the op?

I'm glad that your doc has been so understanding. I can't imagine the pain you must be in, it sounds awful Try not to worry about the op. When you think about it, tummy tucks must be quite a common procedure these days & they have been doing them for years now! Just think of the feeling you will have later when you will have no pain & a washboard stomach (cow - ooops did I say that out loud? )
