Has anybody any experience of this?

Its something I've thought about but not sure if its beneficial to the child.Educationally I believe they can learn more being home schooled. Its more one to one,but what about the social issues?
Would you have to ensure your child went to clubs and groups to interact with others?

Socialising isn't a problem, there are loads of home schooling groups AND groups where kids go to be taught things by other home edding parents. Try checking out educationotherwise.co.uk

Ive often thought about homeschooling.

As Ryan has CP he is going to stand out at secondary school and as we know kids can be evil and im worried sick he is going to be targetted. If he was to be bullied then i would take him out and school him at home without a sceond thought.

I always used to think definitely not, but the more I read about it the more I like the idea. I think it can work really well.

This is a really old post and i hope you all dont mind me resurecting it.

I Home Educate. 3 of my kids are of school age, 2 are under. We have been Home Educating since Easter so almost a year now. We spent about 6-8 month deschooling. We follow a semi structured way of educating. I let my kids pick what they want to work on and help them when they get stuck so its very child led, but not completely. They HAVE to do some workbook or worksheets everyday, but they can pick what subject.

Its been a wild ride full of ups and downs but its been fun.

Hi and welcome to TheBabyWebsite!

It's great that this post has been resurrected :)

I take my hat off to anyone who homeschools their children!
is it hard to do? By that I mean do you have the education authority watching over your shoulder etc? How do you know you are teaching them enough of the right things??
as you can probably see I have no idea about home schooling at all!
