i fed cole until he was about 18mths, not through choice, I wanted to stop at a yr, but he had other ideas!! I remember peoples opinions too. You just want people to keep to themselves - everyone is different and like Cole some babies need more time to adjust and it certainly doesnt do any harm!! babies cant have full cows milk until a yr - so why change jack from breast to formula - only to change to cows milk after.
Alot of mums would wish they could of fed their babies longer - or atall, so well done you for keeping at it and standing your ground too!!

what is wrong with people!!
Lola decided at 9/10 mnths she had had enough and half way through a feed stopped and never went back no matter how hard i tried.
How many people said oh ill be your relieved, erm no, i was quite happy thanks!
yes it was nice she did it herself but she was too young imo!

i bet at least 80% of the people who make these comments have never breastfed & are commenting through blind ignorance. well done for managing to bf 4 7mths the longest i managed was 6wks 4 various reasons & as soon as i put my kids on2 formula i really missed that closeness & the way your baby looks up at you ets take no notice of small minded people i'm sure Jack will let you know when he is ready to give up the breast

i was the same whn i started weaning darren properly at 6 months. they didnt say you'll be stopping soon more like hinting! just you carry on as long as you can huni. everyone i know only fed for a few days at the most so i ignore peoples comments. (to be honest im flippin' proud of myself for feeding so long) at only 21 people just assumed i was gonna stick him on the bottle but nope!! well done

Hi just ignore the comments. I wanted to breastfeed and struggled managed a bit of a feed in hospital but that was it, if i had managed to feed i would of been goinng all the way, like others said theres no point in stopping jack and putting him on formula when he will be going onto cows milk at 1, its just an un-needed step! I plan to breastfeed next time and will be telling people to f off if they start on me, lol xxx

Keep it up hun - as you know after your older ones what your doing lol! I fed C and D for about a yr and loved it. As you know I havent been able to feed Erin myself which im gutted about. She is now thriving so have to accept it but - oh how i miss that closeness and I wish i could have.

What small minded idiots!!!
I loved breastfeeding & would have carried on longer if I could, with all of them. Lucas was my longest at 8 months & only then did I start giving him bottles at night cos he was still waking every 2 hours for a feed. He got more used to the bottles & less used to me so he eventually stopped b/f.
I remember the comments of some people when I said I breastfed. Some of them were like "Yuk, the thought of it makes me feel sick!" & I thought, childish or what?!!!!!
You carry on for as long as you both want to hun. He is still only a baby ffs!!
