I'm so annoyed, Josh is being bullied at school.

It all started on the last day of term last year when the class bully hit Josh with a frying pan several times and didn't get punished for it. I went mad then but the school said that he was punished (even though Josh, other kids in his class & even the teacher said he wasnt!)

Today Josh has told me that his teeth hurt because 2 kids chased him, caught him pushing him to the ground and he banged his teeth, they then chased him again, grabbed him and then hit him several times on the head with a pace hopper.

The school seems to protect this child, almost to the point they seem to not like confronting his mum. I'm so mad!

Sorry but needed to vent!

I hope you can get this sorted soon. It's not nice when our children are scared at school, are the parents approachable?
Failing that, the school should be doing something, it happens on their grounds during school time, so it is their responsibility to intervene and help your child. Maybe the other child has problems at home, usually they take it out on others if they can.

talk to the teacher again and if you get nowhere go to the head, bullying is serious and needs to be dealt with.

i hope josh is ok x

Aww thats awful! I hope Josh is ok!

It shouldnt be left to you as a parent to confront the bullys parents, the school should be dealing with it and it is out of order that they are not! Try having a one on one with his teacher and hopefully something will get done about it.

It needs to be nipped in the bud, speak to the Head, find out what their policy over bullying is and then make sure they are doing what they are meant to be. Even if this child has problems at home or his parents are unapproachable, they shouldn't be doing nothing and letting other kids suffer.

Well this will be an update and a half, have sent the last day & a half in hospital.

Josh went to a party at a soft play adventure playground after school on Wednesday when the boy that has bee bullying him pushed him from the top to the bottom breaking Josh's arm. We rushed him to a&e and he was in theatre yesterday afternoon having the bone straightened. I never knew how badly you could bow a bone. Shocking! My poor little man was so good as was nil by mouth from the party till late afternoon the following day after the op.

As a mummy it was by far the hardest thing I have ever done holding my scared little boys hand while the popped him to sleep. I can't believe how horrible that was.

Simon is going back into the school this afternoon to address this again, but I have absolutely no idea what to do if this continues as he loves school and has a good circle of friends around him. Why should he be punished if he's being bullied?

Josh is now home and in a cast from armpit to fingers and he's being such a superstar about it. I couldn't be prouder of my little man!

omg did other people see who pushed josh? if so you have to mae sure they are there when you bring it up. i think something like this happening outside school should be dealt with by talking to the childs parents, no mum would be pleased to hear that their child had done that!
i really hope josh is ok, maybe moving schools for a fresh start is to be thougjt about.

so sorry this happened :-(

unfortunately i wasnt there so i dont know if anyone else saw it. We have gone through the school and Simon has come back pretty confident that this child is being dealt with. I guess its a case of seeing how it goes. I hope this never happens again!

Its amazing how well he's coping. Didnt take him to school today but going back Monday. Hospital have said he cant play in the playground so I'm only going to let him do half days to begin with as dont think its fair leaving him inside on his own at lunchtime. He may think he's done something wrong and is being punished.

Luckily he loves school and this doesnt seem to be putting him off going. I think hes got such a nice circle of friends he loves playing with and thats far more what he's concentrating on instead of the bully.

Headteacher has said Josh can bring in his breathing aparatice they used on him for his op for show and tell and instead of just his class, he's been invited to do it in front of the whole school!!! So he's quite excited about going back!
