What a fantastic book that is. I've just finished reading it and it was much better than I thought it would be. And absolutely heartbreaking. I've seen from a couple of posts on here that some of you have read this too and like it. I would recommend it to anyone. I haven't seen the film yet but didn't want to see it before reading the book. Books are ALWAYS better.

I'm surprised actually that this forum topic isn't as busy as some of the others, I read whenever I can! Maybe it's because I am childless at the moment???!!!
Just going on to About A Boy which I picked up second/third/whatever/ hand.
Before The Time Traveller's Wife I read The Lovely Bones, which was good, but not as good.

I would also recommend the 4 books in the Twilight Saga to anyone, and also the Harry Potter's if you haven't already read them!

I love books. I wish I had more time to read than I do, I guess I will get even less time until our future children leave home, ha!

Agree Sarah the books are always better!!!
I read the twilight series and was most disappointed by twilight so not interested in the others.
Currently reading the True Blood books, if you can get them they are worth a read, well written but entertaining.

My friend reads the True Blood books and I bought one for her on her last birthday, so I might give them a go sometime! Don't you find that there's so many books you want to read and so little time, lol.
I also love reading children's books (with children). When my little cousins were actually little (they're 14 and 12 now) I used to read to them all the time. One of our favourites was Dr Seuss' There's a Wocket in my Pocket!
Love it. I need to own that one.

Oh my word I didnt realise there was a book section on here!!! I have read TTW and it took me a while to get into it, I managed on the 2nd attempt and loved it! I think I got too bogged down trying to remember dates & ages etc. A fantastic book though & I'm still waiting to see the film. I've just read her new book My Fearful Symmetry which is quite good but no where near as good.
Read all of the Twilight books but only read them due to the hype and didnt think they were that special! I may give the True Blood books ago. Didnt go much on Lovely Bones either.
I am a massive Jodi Picoult fan, I have read all but her latest one & I've still not watched My Sisters Keeper film! I've got my eyes peeled to the Sky Movies section though! x

I love Jodi piccoult aswell and read most but have been trying to read songs of humpbacked whale and for some reason I just cant get into it..hence switched to twilights and true blood..lol
I will read most things, especially if I am bored but there are only a few I havent been able to put down.
Love all the Torey Hayden books aswell

Has anyone ever read 'The Lord of The Rings' trilogy? I read them before I saw the films, and was so dissappointed in the films afterwards! The books are amazing, yet the films were just a visual fest.

Nemo - I have read Songs of The Hump Back Whale & it wasnt half as good as her other books, it took me a while to get into it. I did read a review on it before I bought it saying that it was one of her first books & if she had released it here before her other crackers then she really wouldnt have any fans! So true!
Sorry Sel not read any Lord Of The Rings books - think the size of them put me off!

Sel I would love to be able to get into that type of book but I cant. G loves anything like that and all the Terry PRatchett and Terry Goodkind etc

I read them before I even met Geoff, way, way before Oscar. I read them all in under 2 weeks, when I was really ill in bed. There's no chance I'd even get passed the first chapter now!

I love the 'Discworld' series. I read every book he wrote until I was 16, but then I found other stuff to occupy my time with!

'The Colour of Magic' was one of my favourite books when I was a kid.

I'm the opposite, I love sci-fi/fantasy books, but can't get into anything else!
