Can anyone help please
My 16 week son has been on SMA 2 for hungrier babies for the past 3 days. this morning he was trying to have a poo but was finding it hard. when he did and was green and hard!
He drinks plenty of boiled water.
Should I stay on the hungrier babies sma or go back to SMA gold.

He went on SMA 2 because he was having 7 oz every 2.5 hours.

Ella was on the hungry baby stuff from about 4 weeks and her poo became quite hard - worse when we started to wean her (we weaned her at 16 weeks cos she wsa eating 9oz 6 times a day and still hungry)

If she is just finding it hard to poo, (straining, going red etc.) I don't think there's any cause for concern. However, if she has other symptoms, such as wind, bloated belly, rash, etc. it may be worth looking into changing back. SMA hungry formula is harder for babies' to digest as it has casein protein in it which is harder to break down than whey protein in normal formula which is why it keeps them fuller for longer. It's the change in protein that changes baby poop colour!

He has had another poo and it didn't seem to bother him but was still a bit hardish.
He is getting his injections done tomorrow so will check with the nurse

Been to the doctor (injection horrible) they said not to change back and its normal for poo to change.
