I do it, we have 2 graco high back boosters in the back, dd who is now 9 sits in the middle back with no booster - it is allowed by law if there is no physical way to fit a 3rd seat. She only sits there if the front seat is taken by a passenger, otherwise I have Charlie in a seat in the front and the 2 older kids in the back.
As I said it is allowed by law to have a 3rd child minus seat if it is impossible to fit one - but obviously it is not ideal and I only do it when all 5 of us are travelling in car together.

we do but we have a picasso as you say they have 3 seperate seats in the back so can fit the seats in mine are all in booster seats now but can fit baby seats in fine too im sure you'll manage
We have been doing it, it was ok in our big car (a very old SAAB Estate) when the baby was still in her rear facing baby seat and the other two in their boosters, but now she is a bit bigger it has been really hard to fit all three in the back.
However the car died and the way home from a childrens party in Sunday afternoon so I have talked my husband into getting a 'new to us' car which has seven seats.
If it is just me and the kids I drive a corsa, which can turn off the front passenger airbag, so I put one of the kids in the front with me.
