So here's something I'm sure you all wanted to know, but I'm going to tell you anyway  I can safely say my toddler is potty trained. [smilie=clap.gif]

It took about 4 days to be confidently dry and know that he could hold it until we got to a toilet, and now 2 weeks later, the poops are sorted too!!

If I count his wee accidents we're looking at maybe 5 times, and poop's the same, but over a space of 2 weeks and a lot of running back and fore to the toilet, I guess its really hard to tell when you actually ready to go, or if its just a fart, and I think he has had to learn to hold it so they go firmer and there aren't so runny which causes more accidents, Esp as he wears boxers!!

I thought it was going to be way harder as I didn't really have to try with my older son.

Anyway's just wanted to share, also the book I reviewed The potty training bible was really helpful if anyone is thinking of getting it, not that it tells much you wont have been told or figured out before but it does reinforce what your doing :D

Hiya,

I meant to reply the other day but someone turned up

Some things I did do,

If your little man is like Archer, who didn't like to even sit on the potty at first, I did counting...e.g" can you sit there and we can count to 10!!"-Arch loved it, made it into a game, we also had a star chart and did counting to 60, when we reached 60, he would get a star, only prob is he wanted to sit there the whole time and keep getting stars [smilie=1eye.gif] so I did have to regulate that.

Expect wee's for at least the first 2 days, they need to to feel what its like to wee, I'd stay in and keep bottom half nude, annoying to wee on the carpet but saves on washing, also the time from them realising or feeling they're about to wee is like seconds and that's not much time to whip the undercrackers down.

We made a huge song and dance when he did anything on the potty, he loved it and started peeing every 5 flippin' mins!! I nearly gave myself a headache.

As for the poo's, nobody told me, and I didn't have this issue last time, but there WILL be poo in pants for at least a week after you start, its a totally diff way of controlling...as you know  , so be prepared, luckily Archie only poo's in the house so we were ok, and only had about 5 poo accidents. We also went straight to boxers coz pants feel really fitting around the leg line and i didn't want him to feel it was in anyway the same at nappies, worked really well, and is very cute, only drawback is boxers let EVERYTHING out when done, so can be messy.

Also this is the 3rd attempt for me the other couple I realised within 2 days he wasn't ready, so if you think he's not ready then I wouldn't peruse it right now, don't feel bad just may need a couple more weeks or so.

I noticed you are borrowing the Potty training bible, I thought it was great it was actually really reassuring.

GOOD LUCK :D
