Hi,

I saw my HV about two weeks ago, who said that I need to wean Lauren off her bottles and give her milk in a cup.

She has her water in a cup now and she has started to have her first milk feed in a cup, but I think that the last feed of the day will be a very difficult one to change as her routine is.....home from nursery, 30 min play with Mum& Dad, bath, bottle sothat shes calm to be put down to sleep.

The HV said that she needs to stop her late night feed too (this is ok as she often wakes up and goes straight back to sleep).

Is it ok to keep the last feed as a bottle for longer?

I am so clueless sometimes!!!!

Linda. x

hi hunni

i think its completely up to u!! what u feel is right!!
phoebe only has 1 bottle a day and has done for a while she decided that was enough for her so she has a bottle at night time she wont drink her bedtime milk in anything else!!!
i give her milk during the day and she will drink that from a cup!!

with the dream feed hun they do say from about 8 months they dont really need that feed but thats not to say u should stop it if u think lil miss still needs it then why give it up!!
phoebe weaned herself off that feed at about 8 months!!
its up to u!!! u are the mama!!!! xxxxxxxx

Thank you.

I will keep the bedtime feed for now and leave out the dream feed as she doesn't always want one anyway.

feel better now. :D

I gave Kian his milk in a bottle until he was 1. I don't think you need to rush into it tbh. Just do it when you feel ready.

   You make me laugh so much!

I know what you mean, Lauren never wants cuddles unless she's having a bottle. She's so busy all the time!!!!!

Love cuddles with my babby. :D

emily still has a night time feed, she wont settle without it, and she still has a bottle for ALL her milk feeds, which is is 3 - 4 a day, shes not too keen on a cup but will have it occasionally for juice. Id do what u think is best!

I wouldn't worry hun. Jaidyn still has her milk in a bottle before bed, but I will be weaning her onto a beaker in the next few weeks. All my others were off bottles by the time they were 13/14 months. As long as other drinks are in a beaker, I don't think it's too much of a problem if milk is in bottles. I started by introducing some milk in a beaker and the rest in a bottle, I just gradually increased the amount in the beaker. It's worked with them all.
