after having my second child last year i had the implant put in, i knew my periods would be irregular for a while but i could deal with that. i would bleed for 10 weeks at a time, have 3 days off and then start back on again. finally its setttled down but for just over 2 months ive not had a period at all and ive been told they can stop till it is removed. recently ive got a new partner and it worries me abit, i know its very effective and im not pregnant but i actually think its normal for the the body to have a monthly period. i am thinking of asking my doc to change to go on the pill so in time i can have a regular bleed and not worry every month if im pregnant i would really appreiciate any advise if this is a risky thing to do or not because i dont want anymore children at the moment im very happy with the two i have

hi, i was on the implant a couple years ago and it threw me about abit with bleedin irregular and then headaches and moodswings. Since having my daughter 9months ago i was put on the pill i cant quite remember the name of it but its the normal one where you take 7days break every month, that give me really bad migraines and auras, so ive been put on oestrogen free pill cerazette which you take continuously and i have periods but they are hardly noticeable. i havent had any side affects with it either. I'm like you i was worrying on the first pill that when i didnt bleed i was pregnant. I would defo reccommend the pill if you are good at remembering to take i.. hope that helps a little bit x
