Ok I put on loads of weight with Erin about 3 1/2 stone - alot to do with diabetes but I know because I was signed off work i was also inactive which didnt help.

So Ive had my six week check, not bfeeding so diet is starting. What diets do people reccomend. I have done cambridge in the past and lost stone. I found this easy but cant do this diet till Erin is 3 months as they dont allow you to - its one of those meal replacments types.

In the past i have just cut down but know I will have more success with a structured diet.

So which do you reccomend? How much success have people had with a particular diet?

WeightWatchers Points system is good but sticking to a set number of calories is easier and cheaper. Weigh yourself at home say on a Monday morning. write the weight down and then write down everything you eat. (Seeing what you're eating brings home to you all the little extras you kind of forget about!) Then weigh yourself every Monday morning, keeping a record of your loss. This sort of worked for me last year and Yvonne too!

Give yourself little milestones too if you've got a lot to lose as small chunks of weight like say 7 pounds seem more achievable than 1 and a half stone or whatever. Treat yourself after you hit each milestone too!

Good luck. :)

I was a WW girl but before christmas I joined Slimming World and I have to say I like it loads more than WW. The extra easy plan is so easy. Ive lost 1st 5 1/2lb in 9 weeks but a couple of lbs back on over xmas but back into it now I love it.

I dont really know what to recommend :?

Im just cutting out all the sugary junk I ate over the Christmas period because I think it was giving me sugar highs and then I was crashing down!

Today Ive ate lots of pea pods, grapes and cherries and have been full of energy all day! Which is very unusual lol  Continuing with my healthy streak too and make a hotpot full of veg for tea lol!

There is no one single diet that is best. What works well for one woman may not work so well for another. The only diet that works well for everyone is a healthy, balanced diet combined with regular exercise. Diet pills and most dieting plans may lead to inital weight loss but few lead to permanent weight loss.

Just healthy eating and exercise is what I do. My Hubby lost over 7 stone following my philisophy and eating smaller portions and at set time of the day
Good luck whatever way you decide to do it

Snap Yvonne! Have got to say that it was silly for me to weigh yesterday though. Should have been like Daisydoodle and ignored the scales for a while to let myself settle back into a normal eating pattern! Am in size 12 too but they are now very tight so something's got to be done.

Good luck Emma and let us know how you get on. :)

The only way to lose weight permanently is to expel more calories than what you eat. The healthiest way of doing so is to stick to 2000 calories per day and do 30 minutes of exercise daily. A combination of strength training and aerobic exercise are very effective, the best of which are swimming and walking.

There is no miracle diet, and dieting alone will not get you the results you want as quickly or effectively. Just eat healthily, don't eat rubbish and exercise a lot.

I did this (and still do) for 3 months and I lost over a stone and a dress size! I also lost 2 further pounds over Christmas! :D
