It might be worth trying another phone in the connection first
I'm with Virgin and must admit we had a problem with the first months bill but after I emailed them ( I emailed head office and stated my concerns point by point) they have been great with me and I get massive reductions in my bill as an apology
Hopefully someone from customer services will contact you soon and resolve the problems
