I am AGAIN waiting in for someone to repair my washer

That has now been every week since the last 5 weeks and at least once a month before that.

It is now just over a year old so hotpoint wont replace it and domestic and general WONT replace it as its been faulty since day one and always the same fault and they say HOTPOINT should have replaced it ages ago  .

Tuesday the engineer came and replaced another part and that now means that every single part has now been replaced, even the flippin' door catch  . He said if it broke again they need to replace it.

So here is the problem.
Domestic and General wont.
Hotpoint say the engineer has to condem it.
Engineer said its not his job that a manager should.
Cant get past the ladies who answer the phone to talk to a manager.
Engineer admitted why he wont condem it, it goes against them as they get merit points or something. If they have to repair it then they have to repait it, even if they know they will be back next week. They dont look good at comdeming it as it shows that they could not fix it

I will be fuming if the engineer today does not do more for me this time. I have been told he can call for authorisation there an dthen for it to be replaced so will make sure he knows I know this

make sure he knows you have 5 kids and a stinky pile of washing.

seems silly not to condem it after all the probs uve had - hardly customer satisfaction is it!?

Thanks hun

It looks bad for them if they condem it, but surely it looks bad with a hotpoint van outside my house every week. People will talk

I know the engineers by name  I will have to invite them for christmas dinner as they spend so much time here

Oh god, thats Awful! Im glad I didnt buy hotpoint now!

you give them hell. Dont let him fix it and walk away!
If you phone the call centre again, DEMAND to speak to a manager. They are legally not allowed to say no. Tell the Manager you are taking them to trading standars because the item you have is not fit for the purpose for which it is intened.
Trading standars will be on your side 100% (Ita great having had an indepth discussion with trading standards about product rights etc..I learned alot!

  )

Can't believe the engineer is thinking of himself and not the flippin' customers! My mum had to call the engineer out for her washer as the drum was knackered as my brother has left Euros in his pocket which damaged the drum. She wasn't actually covered for damage like that to the drum, but the engineer put something different on the form so that she'd get a brand new machine! She ended up with a better machine as the one she had was out of production and they had to give her the next model up!!

Hope you get a new machine sis xxx

Just found out that the engineer that came last time was on fanchise (sp) and would not get paid if he did not fix machine. They dont get paid to replace

The guy today was fab and he had been looking at all our history with the machine last night at home. He agreed that we should have a new one and did explain that they rarely replace and would rather fix it even if it would cost them £600 :!:

He went out to the van to call his boss and was ages and came back and sadi we will get a call in 2 days to ask when best is to deliver a NEW MACHINE :D , he told his boss I was furious and shouting and refusing he touched the machine as there was no point and I was wanting it removed and I was going to the newspapers and so on.

Boss looked at the history and went quiet and they both agreed that about 4 call outs ago it should have been replaced

Next fight is that now we are getting a new machine we dont need the extra warranty we have just bought and they fight that we still need it as we have had a machine for a year and even though this is new its not covered by a free 12 month warranty but right now I dont really care.
