You all know what happened to Charlotte on Tuesday. Anyways since telling people when asking about huge bruising around 90% have said that they dont think the trolley should have tipped. The store have phoned last night and said they will be conducting an investigation with it being such a serious incident. So what I am asking is whether there is any responsibility with the store or whether it is just one of those things? I am wondering if people are all on this band wagon of claiming for money or it if it is something that shouldnt have happened considering how many children will be in the store probably doing similair.

I think I would personally think, Charlotte is ok, the staff did all they could at the time - and are still keeping in touch, now doing an investigation too, so I think I would just leave it at that.

Maybe though next time a smaller baby might be seriously hurt - Charlotte has been lucky! An investigation is needed to stop this happening again.

I am not going for a case was just wondering about peoples opinions in general.
As you say I am grateful she is fine and was horrible thing to happen.

well I can see that a lot of people would sue the supermarket for whatever they could get - but then kids do hang on trolleys - mine do it, though ours has never tipped over and I agree that they shouldn't do that, which is why people would expect compensation for it.

I wouldn't bother, but you see those adverts all the time - 'where theres blame theres a claim' and all that - But at the end of the day there is no lasting damage - if there was I would definately want compensation.


How is Charlottes bruising now?

in 1 way i would say no they were all helpful and looked after you and the kids but in another i would say yes as this would get them to review the design of the trolleys so may not happen again and cause lasting damage to another child charlotte was lucky but maybe the next one may not be so if you did something this may change that

What I would like to see is the trolleys weighted on the bottom, you know like the ones you can get for pushchairs to stop them tipping. so it doesnt affect the weight of it being pushed but does stop it tipping over.

Vix bruising is still coming out main bit is gorgeous purple yellow now and then round the side of her face is blue down to her cheek bone and back into her hair. Although in her self she is happy enough and not slept as much yesterday..major bonus is she has slept through the last 2 nights

I'm not too sure as apart from now, I have never heard of a trolley tipping over before at all. If it was a regular occuarnce and if the kids were seriously injured because of it, then you may have a case. However, unless the trolley you used was a faulty one, I think it may have just been a one-off incident.

I'm glad to hear that Charlotte is Ok though. Have the docs said anything about a second x-ray in a month or so to see if there is any superficial damage at all, to be on the safe side? If not, I'd definitely request one, as from what you have described, that's one hell of an accdent!

I'm not sure as I'm sure the handles say that kids shouldn't stand on them so in a court case ASDA could say it was your responsibility to make sure your kids didn't stand on the trolley.
