Crap, crap, crap!!!!!!
How is it undermining breastfeeding? If a woman wants to breast feed she will, reading the words on a tin of formula won't change her mind! If anything those words help mum's feel less guilty about giving up breastfeeding and to me that's a good thing as their's nothing worse than some poor woman not getting on with breastfeeding, but being made to feel guilty about giving it up.
Midwives all promote breastfeeding, no-one but the advertisers promote formula and even then first milks aren't advertised on TV. Up here there are adverts promoting breastfeeding on TV, so to me breastfeeding is being promoted more than formula!

what a load of do-do!!

how exactly will it undermine bresatfeeding? so what's their suggestion for mothers who want to breastfeed but can't beause of, say, duct blockage or infection or having to be on medication that could adversely affect their babies? starve the infants?

have these ppl any idea how much guilt is associated with all these 'do's' that they're forcing down new mothers' throats????

Mr Mike Brady has obviously had higher-than-average flow since giving birth and wants to tell all in his book due out shortly...

my sweet child is on a combination of breast and bottle..more bottle than breast but at least he's getting some 'mummy juice'...even tho it's not enough to sustain him.. 8)

Just been reading the package on a certain 'good night' milk drink. I quote from the first part of the label:

Serve warm after bath time instead of your normal follow-on milk as part of a regular bedtime routine like the one sugested below...
1. Warm Bath
2. Peaceful Bedroom
3. 'Bill and Ben' good night milk drink
4. Soothing Lullaby
5. Kiss Goodnight.

Awww. Sounds heavenly. But lo and behold, one turns over the packet and what do we find?

'Do not allow prolonged or frequent contact of milk feeds with your baby's teeth as this increases the risk of tooth decay. Make sure your baby's teeth are cleaned after the last feed at night!

Does the teeth-cleaning come between 3 and 4 or 4 and 5, or indeed after 5?

FFS!!!!!

I dont know what I think about this but I know not all mums can breastfeed and I dont feel its fair they should be made to feel bad. Also for those that cant breastfeed milk is expensive and by stopping the offers on breastmilk its going to have a negative impact on them financially. Its bad enough being made to feel bad cos you cant bf

I dont if im gonna sound bad but i think its a good idea. If a women was unsure of breastfeeding seeing something like "even closer to breastmilk" might tilt her view. Breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby and i think if a women can breastfeed then she should i no this might sound narrow minded but i think alot of mothers think formual milk is as good as breast when its not. I have friends that think breastfeeding is discusting god no's where they got this from as its one of the most natural things in life.

I do think mothers should be more educated on breastfeeding and its bennifits.

sorry if this offends anyone
