I was at the gym throughout the entire preganancy with Ella - so slotted back into the gym. But then again I was a little obsessed with fitness pre-Ella. My weight returned on its own - being sick all day every day and not eating very much for 9 months does that. After Ella though, I re-discovered food and put loads on - so gym and then Military fitness was the way I went. I think you have to find a way that suits you best - whether it is gym, wii, running, walking. Also if you have someone to motivate you helps - whether at the gym or a slimming club etc Hope your friend manages to loose the weight xx

Jaidynsmum wrote: Calorie controlled diet and lots of walking, pushing a pram uphill is knackering I second that!!! I just stuck to eating 2000 calories a day and took Oscar out for lots of walks in the pram. He is now pushing 40lbs, so on the occasions when I still use the pram, the combined weight of him, his pram and changing bag is around 70lbs: that's more than half my weight! I've got myself back in shape now and am in better shape than before I fell pregnant! I couldn't go to the gym in the early days either, I just cut out all sweets, bread and other rubbish from my diet and just made sure I went for a 2 mile walk (took me around 30-40 minutes) once everyday.

Healthy eating and walking everywhere was the key to loose my baby weight. Although im still not back to my pre pregnancy weight or dress size. I'm on a strict diet at the minute so I do intend to get there eventually lol Just got to have the patience too, I just want to loose it in weeks and I can't I have to do it properly lol.

I was lucky that I was back into my skinny jeans a week after I had Ethan, BUT - 10 months on and my weight has slowly gone up without me really noticing. I only realised when I did this interactive thing at the Natural History Museum (a machine weighs you and tells you how many times bigger a polar bear/dinosaur etc is). When I saw my weight come up I was shocked (and embarrassed as everyone else could see it too-there was no casual way to cover it up without being horrifyingly obvious!). I think I got a bit smug when I thought I would stay slim forever but now I'm paying for it!
I have found that the fitness channels have some great exercise/workout programmes. I record them and when Ethan has his afternoon nap, I do 30 mins/hour. Been doing it every day for the past two weeks. I ache everywhere but it is working. So if your friend has Sky/Virgin, she could try this. If you're already paying for it, you might as well use it for something practical. It means no paying for the gym, or exercising in public!
Also, if I feel an attack of the munchies coming on, I have a decaf cuppa with skimmed milk instead and I've cut out snacks except fruit.
