Well, since we've got an animal forum, I thought I'd tell you about the fifth goldfish the children got almost 2 weeks ago.
I went to feed them yesterday, and it was floating on it's side at the top of the water. The other 4 (3 of which we've had for 5 years, the other for 4 years) are all fine. I told the children when they got home from school, I still left it in the water, and Christine took it out to bury it. I said to flush it down the toilet, but she wants it buried. We know it's the new fish, as it is alot smaller than the others.

Aww that's a shame hun. I've only ever had goldfish as pets when I was little & won them from fairs. They never lived for long though. I didn't know they could love for 5 years & more, I thought they only lasted a couple of years at most - shows how much I know!

I hope the kids weren't too upset x

I never manage to keep goldfish for long, I'd love to know what I do wrong as I feel like a fish murderer! Apart from the suicidal one that jumped out of the tank and was found on the carpet... that one wasn't my fault

Not sure what you put in the water there Em, but he obviously didn't like it!

As sad as it is that you have lost the 5th fish Audrey, KUDOS for keeping the first four alive for so long!!!! I tried for at least 10 months to keep some goldfish for my little brother, but they all kept dying! We went through about 15, neither one lasted longer than 3 months!
