It really depends on what 'type' suits you. I have tried all different ones and have found that I prefer Pockets. There have a waterproof outer and have a 'pocket' that you put the inserts in. Inserts can come with the nappies or you can put anything in. I use cheap microfibre clothes from Poundland etc to boost them up a bit Or you can go for pre-folds. They are like the old fashioned terry nappy but are already cut to shape. Some have velcro tabs or some need a nippa. Then you put the waterproof wrap over that. here are some links to show you the difference: One example of the Pocket nappy (There are LOADS more on the market though) http://www .fuzzibunz.com/ Prefolds: http://www .greenbaby.co.uk/pl_NAPPIES_WASHABLES_OTHERWASH.htm I use an old fleece blanket cut into liners and when he has pooed, I wiggle the liner over the toilet and then hold it by the edge of the loo as I flush it and this usually rinses the poo off. I then put them into a bucket. When it comes to wash them my 'routine' is Cold rinse with a few drops of tea tree oil (Cold rinse helps get rid of smells as hot water sort of seals it in) Wash on 50 with a very small amount of washing detergent Rinse nappies. If I tumble dry I put a small piece of fabric in with a few drops of essential oil on. Hope this has helped? I really don't have a nappy addiction......honest!!! |

Thanks hun. I'll have a look. The pockets sound ideal for me as I'll be going back to work when Brendan is around 8 months old so will need something that will be quick & easy for the nursery |

i don't use them myself, but when back home a lot of the peeps still uses them. It's not as bad as peeps make it to be, really i wish i could use it but hb does not like nappies being soaked and all that. If you get into a routine you'll be fine. |

I have only ever bought one of mine new and I have a decent (ish) stash! |

I prefer a shaped terry nappy with a wrap over but when mine were tiny I preferred pocket nappies. You don't have to soak them BTW, I dry pail and wash every other day or so. |
