After choosing which bottles i am going to use. I now dont know which type of steriliser to get.

I am either going to get the lindam universal steam steriliser or use the milton coldwater, but im not sure which to go with ? Any ideas which is best / easiest / quickest / most convenient ?

I've not used either of those - we got the Avent steam steriliser because that was what they used in the hospital & it was really easy. I breastfeed so I'm not sure how great it would be for lots of bottles, but it did come with a bottle rack aswell as normal trays for sterilising other stuff & there is plenty of room. It also came with various bottles, teats & dummies, & takes about 7 minutes to sterliise so is much quicker & easier than using water sterlisation.

I use Avent bottles so use the Avent steam steriliser. Its really convenient. Theres 2 settings, both take just 8 minutes to complete the cycle and setting 1 is if you want to make the bottles up straight away. Setting 2 keeps them sterilised for 24 hours.

Ive never used another sterliser so cant really comment on any others. I just love this one lol

I used the Avent microwave steam steriliser which was really convinient. I breastfed for 6 months, but I could always fit the breast pump and all its' components in it, as well as all the bottles and freezer cups that I used for that day. So it was handy as it was so big, I never ran out of room for the things that needed to be sterilsed. I think it only took a couple of minutes in the microwave too. :D

I steam sterilised with the avent steriliser with my daughter and I cold water sterilise now with my son. I would def recommend cold water sterilising as opposed to steam as it's less hassle. As long as you change the water and add a fresh tablet every 24 hours you shouldn't have any probs. x x

I used a microwave steriliser that was big enough to take 2-4 bottles and a breast pump. I loved it (is that too strong a word for a small piece of equipment?) because it took only 4 minutes and kept everything sterile for 24 hours until opened (if that makes sense). I used a small travel 2-bottle electric steriliser for when we were away fromhome, which was good because it was much smaller.

I had a cold water steriliser for Elijah, but steam for the others.

I preferred the steam. The main advantage with cold water was I could leave the bottles in the water until I needed them (for up to 24 hours). With steam once you open the sterilizer you need to take out everything and if left unopened things only stay sterile for around 3 hours. I always took them out and put cold boiled water in them, then topped up with boiled water and formula when needed.

Steam only takes around 10 minutes, but cold water takes 30 minutes, so if you forget to sterilise a bottle you have a screaming baby on your hands for what seems eternity (been there, done that )

I use the Tommy Tippe sterliser and bottles and it works fine. Can also put 4 bottles in it so have plenty of bottles ready to go!
