Lily-Mae has been brilliant at sleeping through since being about 8 Weeks old, but this past 6 Weeks she is going to bed around her usual time 8pm and waking up at 10pm and wont go back down till 2:30 - 3am. The whole of this time she crys and we cant comfort her.
She is now nearly 10mths old, on solids and is very happy in the day. She has 2 naps with the latest one around 3:30 so I cant see it being down to too much sleep, but I really dont know what to do.
Anyone have any ideas of how I can change this as we are in very much need of this to stop so a good nights sleep for all can happen or even why this could be happening. Xx

It could be that she's going through a bit of a growth spurt. Is she having anything when she wakes up during the night or just crying?

Try cutting her 3.30 nap out too for a few days, see if that makes a difference. I know if Lewis has even 15 minutes nap through the day it delays his bed time by about an hour.

definately cut a daytime nap, but could she be teething??? try calpol before bed if you think she might be. Teeth are nasty little beggers!!

Thanks Jess, she isnt really having anything unless we give it her as 'i really dont know what else to do' so we go thru the whole wet? Cold? Hot? Hungry? thing. But she is not bothered in bottles which did suprise us as she was comfort ed by bottles when younger. When she does finally go back off its by us having to rock her in our arms with the whole time her fighting.
I really hope it is a growth issue and not just habbit, but I can say for sure there is no afternoon nap today lol xx

she was teething, but as far as I can tell all that was cutting have cut thru, but im gain to try anything so calpol it is tonight. Gotta admit teething is nasty, when she was in pain she used to pull this scared face, it was horrible teetha seamed to help but perhap calpol maybe better.

Abbie goes through spells like that - Sat night in fact Mum and dad were babysitting, and she went down dead easily as usual, but got up about 11.30 and up till about 1.45 am. Gave her medinol and still nothing. We had to ride it out until she settled. She wasn't hungry, but has a cold again so could be your wee one is unwell or in pain too. Think Abbie is also teething again, wee Katie was in agony this morning and that is not like her at all. They both get a bad cold when cutting teeth so maybe that is the problem with you too.
Hope it gets better soon. It aint fun being up all night with them crying. Thankfully for us it is like that one or two nights then back to normal again.

Fingers crossed she settles tonight if she has missed her afternoon nap. Try calpol too, it's worth a try especially if it's teething what there going through.

Well she has had 30 mins sleep all day,and that was only because i was on the school run so it couldnt be helped she got up at 8am, bath, bottle etc then bedtime came (8pm) and yet again she is now wide awake (10pm) she even had calpol. Thinking about it after i read the last post she had a ear infection over christmas so im wondering if we need to go and get it checked out to see if that could still be the problem... oh well just thought i would update you all and now i better go and rescue my OH lol
