Introducing our gorgeous new bambino, Alessandro Giovanni Salvatore D'Angelo. Born on Sat 9 June 2012 at 7am, weighing a healthy 7lb 3oz.
My waters finally broke around 6pm the previous night and I was fully dilated. Contractions were on and off, but I managed to get to sleep at around 8pm, as I was on a drip to get them going again. At 3am I was woken in complete agony, as the contractions came back stronger and more regular. I also had the feeling I needed to push..... baby was on the way! I didn't even have time to ask for an epidural, so used gas and air. After 4 long hours of painful contractions and constant pushing, our gorgeous son arrived.
He has taken to breastfeeding very well and has been fed 4 times already.
Gio and I are just so so happy that he is here and healthy. His Dad can't stop smiling!!!!
Oh and I am getting married! Gio asked me this morning as he said I had just made him the happiest man on earth.
