Hi all,
I feel stuck and dont no which way to turn to cut a very long story short, since having our baby son in august we have had nothing but bad luck.
First my other halfs business suffered a £7000 loss as 2 main dealers couldnt fix his car as they couldnt find what was causing the problem, in the end they ended up replacing every part on the car and putting a new engine in under warrantie (thank goodness) however we had to go and buy another car as the business could not be run without it because it took so long to fix. Eventually when fixed we had to send it back to the finance at the half way mark as we didnt need two cars.
Then my business suffered as someone smashed into the back of my works vehicle (taxi) and as it was christmas and the local goverment offices were closed to be able to get a courtesy vehicle re licenced i lost out on my bussiest time of the year which then lost me well over £5000.
This has all got to me as we realy needed the money for a much needed extention on our bungalow as it is impossible for us to get a morgage for a biger house or re-morgage as when we had ours it was the time when you could sign a piece of paper to say you didnt want anyone to look at your books and what you wanted for your morgage was what you earned (now banks wont allow you to do that). We realy need an extention as we have 1 daughter aged 7 and a son aged 11 months with only two bedrooms. I just feel that everything that has gone on has stopped us from getting what we want.
I am still self employed but not earning much i wonder weather it would be better for me to find a job as employed. However i would still be the one to pick kids up from childcare and do all daily household chorse, as my patners self employed job is doing realy well, but his hours are 8 hour days anywhere in between 9am in the morning to 10pm at night.
My other half says it wouldnt be worth me getting a job unless i can find a job that pays well or works around him and the kids, as i would be working just to pay childcare and the whole point of me working is to get extra money so we can have things like this much needed extention on our bungalow. id love to do fostering aswell but with out the room in our bungalow we cant do that either.
Another thing is we had 2 members of our family having to deal with cancer one of wich lost there life a week ago and the other is fully recovered at the moment but will be on tablets for the rest of there life.
Does anyone else feel stuck and in a corner not knowing what to do ?
On the plus side we are all healthy both of my children have always been good sleepers and are well behaved. Also i am sure there are worse off people out there than me, it's just i feel stuck dont know how to get to where we want to be.
Thanks for listening to my moans.
Zoe

Hi Zoe
Sorry to hear your run of bad luck over the past few months. I hope the job front & finances improve. It's always best to let things out than to bottle up frustration. There will be many reading this topic and relating to it too. Concentrate on the positive things. A Daughter & Son, a Husband, a successful business, you own a property, healthy...
Well done you & keep your chin up
Sian X
