Omg I seriously have never seen anything like it!

I finished work at 3.30 yesterday and it had been raining quite heavy but the sun was coming out inbetween. I got to MILs about 4 and by then the sky was Completley black! Thunder and lightening started and the rain just poured. Didn't take long for the roads to become flooded, I was terrified driving in it. The main road which I use to get home was Completley backed up with traffic because the main roundabouts were under water! I couldn't believe it!
Managed to make it home in about 40 minutes and it should of only taken 5 minutes! My drive was flooded as well as most of the back garden! Was looking on Facebook last night and the photos that people have put up are shocking!
They took all metros etc off so thousands of people were stranded in Newcastle with a 3-4 hour wait for a taxi.

Then after all that and the commotion the flaming sun some out! I couldn't believe it! Still out this morning so fingers crossed we get no more rain! There's disruptions all over this morning here too so hopefully it's starting to return to normal when I go to work this afternoon :?

Anybody else had the weather bad?

The floods here were dreadful, I cant complain though as some homes just down the road were under 2ft of water! The problem we have still is petrol- Anthony tried 2 garages on way to work this morning and both were shut- the tank is really low so hope he gets some on the way home! Luckily the kids havent been affected either, their school is open whereas quite a few others are shut.

Been raining loads here ,but no floods yet. Then again would have to pretty high water to flood us - East Kilbride is one of the highest towns in whole of Scotland, and set at the top of a hill. Everything runs off us, to other towns. Although also why we get such huge amount of snow :?
Saw some of the images on the news last night, looks really scary, and that image of the lightning over a bridge :(
We had really bad thunder and lightning last weekend, well everyone else seemed to - including people who live less than a mile from me, and we had none
Hope you are all safe and sound - swimsuits packed in boots of car just in case
xxx

We were supposed to meet up with Davids mate who is a farmer on the scottish borders last week when we were on hols but its a good job we didnt as his farm was flooded out and now will cost him 1/2 million or so to sort it out :(

I noticed Lincolnshire had quite a bit of rain aswell when we came through that way to come home.
