Lewis is gradually getting worse with his sleeping :( since we moved him into his big boys bed in July he hasn't slept a full night yet :(
Its getting exhausting now, it takes him ages to go to sleep. He expects one of us to lie next to him until he falls asleep, which was ok but now it's taking well over to fall asleep. All he says is mammy beside him, mammy read another book, then he talks about playing with toys and wanting more milk.
When he does eventually get to sleep he's up within a few hours screaming wanting to be in our bed. Have tried going in and settling him, letting him cry for so long but nothing is working.
We have a night light, black out blinds and they seem to make no difference!

Advice greatly needed my eyes look like they have ikea bags under them

It's really hard isn't it!? Is he still having naps during the day? It may be that you need to cut them out if he is. I know if Zac has any amount of sleep during the day (even if it's 5 mins in the car), he is wide awake until 9 or even 10 at night! I have stopped him having any naps during the day & he is now asleep at 7.30-8pm, the same as Kian & Lucas.

I agree with Lou, if he's sleeping during the day cut it out as soon as possible. Even 5 minutes during the day can wreck havoc at night!
When you're in with him do you talk to him at all? If you do, don't! Read him his story and say goodnight, then sit by his door, hall light on and read a book. If he gets up, put him back in bed and say goodnight, go back to reading your book, if he gets up again, back to bed without saying a word and go back to reading your book. Hopefully he will eventually realise you aren't going to give him any attention and will give up!

That's what I was going to say Yvonne
He will eventually realise he has to stay there. We moved Ella into her toddler bed before she was 2, and the first few weeks were awful as she wandered about in the middle of the night. But she quickly reslised she needed to sleep so stayed put. Hopefully Lewis will realise he is tired soon and stay in his bed.
xx

Trying this now with not much luck! He is currently crying at his door because I won't lie beside him! Little monster that he is! I think the irritating thing is he never does this at my mam or MIL house! Don't know why he seems to do it here!

Just want one night where I get a decent nights sleep!

Well last night was just awful! Think because he is full of cold too isn't helping the situation! He had no nap at all yesterday, went to sleep no problem but woke up at about 11 screaming! Tried settling him and nothing worked.

Think it's going to take a while to break the habit :(

Does he take toys to bed with him Jess? We let Ella choose her teddies to go into bed with her at night - believe me changes every night. And it is not just one or two - often about 15
 What about leaving a hall light on to soothe him - might just be the newness of the bed.
When we moved Ella over to the toddler bed, she often wandered about but it was just because she could - somehting she had never been able to do in the cot. It could just be a comfort thing and the sudden amount of freedom is frightening him  Does he take a dummy? we made sure not to take everything away at once. So it was bed, but she still has her dummy at night ( we went through a spell where she needed 3 or 4 with her, shortly after the twins were born - one in each hand, one in her mouth and one in her shopping basket as a spare. Don't ask why she takes a blo*** shopping basket everywhere with her  )
What about even letting him choose his own duvet cover etc?
Other than that hopefully he will accept his new bed soon and sleep through the night so you both can get a sleep
Good luck
xx

Thanks Fee. He takes his monkey to bed, and usually several cars. Changed every night which coloured ones! He has a bed that's a digger, he loves it and always talks about it he just hates sleeping in it! Will try letting him choose a new bed spread, I'll pretty much try anything at the minute!
Something's got to give soon and he's got to start sleeping through soon! That's what keeps me going at the minute lol

I'm wondering if maybes him not going to sleep is because he's slightly hyper. He has fruit shoots through the day and I'm wondering if it's that having an effect on him? Usually he has juice but just in a cup?

Try watering down the Fruit Shoots and see if that makes a difference. I know all my lot can be 'buzzing' if they have had a load of junk to eat & drink throughout the day
