He's been complaining of having a bad tummy for the past few weeks, but has been fine in himself so never really thought much of it. Anyways this morning he was saying we wanted calpol to make him feel better so I thought enough is enough and get him seen to.
He's has been having a few loose poos too and his bum has been sore, I put it down to teething.
Doctor had a feel of his tummy and is impacted with poo doctor showed me where to feel and it was solid. He's been prescribed laxatives, so that's going to be fun!
Fingers crossed they work!

I would get extra supplies of wipes and vanish for the carpet before the laxitives take effect though. Could be messy

Laxatives don't seem to be working
He is having one a day, it's a powder which you mix in with water and it makes an orange flavoured drink, smells like orange juice (I don't dare taste it lol) but there not seeming to have much of an effect.
Have been giving him fresh orange half and half mixed up too during the day and even that. He is going but not much at all, and when he is it's still loose (sorry of tmi!)
Wondering If it takes a few days?

I've never used laxatives so I have no idea hun. The only thing I have found to work is prune juice, but I don't think you'd get a 3 year old to drink it tbh, cos it is very potent! It's strange though that he's still having loose poos even though there is some compacted further up I wonder if it is actually working slowly & that's why he's having the loose poos, even though he's not going that often?

I asked the doctor this? I couldn't get my head around it lol!

But apparently it's because only the loose can get past the blockage so to speak. I've put some black currant juice in this sachet with water and made it tropical (as Si calls it) lol. Seems to be taking it though so that's good!
Im not looking forward to when he does go lol! I best have my vanish and hand gel at the ready!

Yeah, I can kind of understand that! I hope he gets some relief soon. The only time I've had bad constipation is after I'd had Kian & it was horrible. I ended up having suppositories & everything & in the end it was only the prune juice that worked!

I wonder if there's a way to disguise prune juice and make it taste nice? Lol
