My tip is to take something to keep them entertained when traveling even something as simply as a pen and note book

  2. Milli says:

I’d go Quackers without my emergency travel kit – wipes snacks, (make sure they’re not sweet & sickly ones), drinks, pocket-sized books & a small toy.

  3. Mel breckon says:

With three little ones in tow I have a bag the size of Mary poppins! healthy snacks’ books, card games and if that fails we dig out the ds’s and ipad….. Long journeys require the best games including I spy with my little eye something beginning withhhhhh……………..

  4. Emily Packham says:

Make sure you take plenty of snacks, drinks and activities/toys to keep them entertained :)

  5. Joanne Pooley says:

Take plenty of items to keep them occupied and we always take the laptop loaded with films too

  6. Rebecca Denyer says:

  7. anna marikar says:

get them used to travelling from a young age so that it becomes easier

  8. Michelle Williams says:

Be prepared make sure you have plenty to enteryain and keep a bag full of handy stuff like snacks, drinks, wipes ect

  9. I find dont let them get overly tired or hungry, so regular breaks if your driving or if on a plane regular snacks and walking time for them if you can. and definately do not let them get bored, if they are older then take their fave dvd and a travel dvd player or a tablet or mobile with it loaded on, and loads of games on the tab or mobile if that is what you decide, if younger then plenty of toys and activitys for them. and if your doing something( especially good on a plane or train) then get them involved in it as they love to feel helpful and grown up eespecially if they are younger :) Just rrmember if your in the car… regular breaks… every two/three hours, otherwise your probably going to be in a whole world of upset angry and bored children.

  10. Angie Hoggett (@angiehoggett) says:

invest in some travel games and let them choose their own, they are light to pack and always more fun than the toys they have at home if you only use them at holiday time.

  11. Catherine McAlinden says:

My top tip is masking tape. Use for babyproofing drawers/doors/blinds cords. Cut pieces off and give to an older child with felt tips, make endless stickers. I never travel without it!

  12. donna davis says:

A pad and a pen, there are so many little games u can make up along the way :)

  13. Christine Taylor says:

I take crayons, colouring book, exercise books for playing hangman, noughts and crosses, boxes etc some paperback story books , Mr Men are our favourites, an iPod with games and family photos to look through, and a few snacks…..hopefully a couple of naps will ‘happen’ if you are on a long haul flight…..well, that takes care of Daddy…now for the children !!

  14. jennie kerley says:

I fill a bag with cheap bits from the poundshop & also puzzles from crackers, each child gets 6 – 8 items ,when they tire of playing and looking at them lay them out in front of them then take an item away while they close their eyes for them to guess ,you can make up several variations on this, also make a list of games that do not need much equipment such as ispy ,hang man ,tic tac toe & battleships

  15. Kelly says:

I take activities and games for journeys, things to keep their mind off it. If it is a longjourneytravelling when they can sleep too, nap time or night.

Drinks and snacks too can help with travel sickness!

  16. wendy stanger says:

Have a bag with snacks that are easy to open & wont make a mess!!! a bag to keep them entertained – books/pens/DS etc, story CDs, and a special bag with something new in for when on long journeys they are getting really bored @kikicomp

  17. Mary Ballard says:

Something that I found that kept my daughter amused whilst travelling is the ‘I Spy’ game but as she is only 3 yrs old (played from when she was 2 yrs) – I would say I spy something green and she will have a guess like ‘tree’ . It’s a good way to educate them and have fun while travelling.

  18. Gemma Matthews says:

My tip is lots of pitstops on the way, that way you can stretch all your legs, feed yourselves and children and generally have a bit of fresh air. Also some child friendly music and games would be good for the journey :) lovely luggage set, they are so cute x

  19. kayleigh dudley says:

definitely keep them amused is key

  20. Jessica Low says:

When at motorway services, if you ask them if they need a wee and they say “no”, don’t believe them – they’ll be saying they need one as soon as you get back on the motorway!!
