Weststar Holidays

Making it easier for mums (and dads!)

Remember those holidays with just you and your loved one -- relaxing, full of fun and where fantastic memories were made? Well, you can now use those same words to describe a holiday with a baby and toddler in tow!

Having to watch their every move, feeding them healthily, trying to find activities to keep them amused, and not to mention remembering to pack everything and then cramming it all into the car, it’s enough to make you want to stay at home!

In the past a family friendly holiday park didn’t always mean toddler friendly, but with parks in the UK and abroad introducing more and more facilities with young families in mind, all these troubles are becoming a thing of the past, after all, if the children are happy – the parents are too!

First things first. Where to go?

Location is important to ensure there’s plenty to do within a fantastic setting – proximity to the beach, countryside and local attractions. Some holiday parks will helpfully provide you with information on attractions and areas most suitable for your family’s ages – take them places to discover hidden rock pools, build spectacular sandcastles and take a paddle in the sea!

Next. The Packing. Many parks now offer the more ‘bulky’ baby items free of charge or for a small fee – highchairs, cot sides, stair gates, baby baths, swim vests -- so leave yours at home and save some boot space!

Activities
Children’s clubs for tots through to teens ensure that there’s something for everyone allowing young ones to make new discoveries, learn new skills and make lots of friends. You may find parent and baby swimming sessions are available plus off-site activities to make use of local attractions for example horseriding and watersports. Stuff to make memories from!

Eating
Holidays are often a time for treats but equally you want to feed your children the right foods to keep them healthy and happy throughout the holiday. Park menus are becoming increasingly refined with more nutrition information and healthier options than ever before – choose a delicious chargrilled tuna steak for you and a mini carvery for the little ones. Bottle warming facilities are also usually on hand so tiny ones can eat too!

It’s clear that holidaying with young children certainly seems to have got easier and a lot more fun! Here, at Weststar, our holiday parks in Cornwall, Dorset and Hampshire give you and your family all of the above and so much more.
