Becoming a grandparent is usually an exciting time, but it also has its share of potential pitfalls. Many expectant and new grandparents are nervous at how they’ll cope with the new role, and want know how other grandparents have managed to make the relationship – with their children as well as their grandchildren – as rewarding as possible.
That’s why grandfather of seven Phill Williams has written The Insider’s Guide to Being a Brilliant Grandparent. He based his book on a survey of around a hundred grandparents, and interviews with grandchildren, and has produced a practical and readable guide to the joys and challenges new grandparents face.
The book covers important issues such as choosing presents, looking after the granchildren, holidays together, and getting on with the other grandparents, and Phill passes on his own wisdom along with that of his survey respondents.

The Insider’s Guide to Being a Brilliant Grandparent is written by Phill Williams and it will be out in paperback on June 11th 2007
