| 24 Week old baby learns to walk |
Six-month-old Reuben Robinson from Newcastle has astounded both his parents and child experts by being one of the youngest children ever to learn how to walk. Reuben's ability to toddle happily around his home puts him about six months ahead of the average child. Connie, Reuben's mum, has been telling newspapers about the moment she realised her baby had suddenly become a toddler.
'He just stood up in the middle of the room in front of me,' she said. 'He didn't hold on to anything - he just wanted to take a few steps. My heart stopped and my mouth opened and I just stared for about a minute. I couldn't believe it.'
'We are very proud of him,' she says, happily. 'He never stops. He tries to walk up and down the bath, he likes standing up and nibbling the plants and is constantly at the phone. I don't know who he's trying to ring. He walks everywhere now. I envy mums who put their babies down, leave the room and come back after a moment to find them in the same spot. Reuben is always right behind me.'
