An Italian court has forced a 13-year-old girl to have an abortion against her wishes, after ruling that the teenager's mother had the final say.
The case of Valentina, which has been widely reported in Italy, came to the courts when the teenager became pregnant by her 15-year-old boyfriend. She didn't want to have the termination, but the court in Turin ruled that because she was a minor the decision would pass to her mother who insisted on the abortion.
