Toddler Tantrum Family Thrown Off Plane

Travelling with toddlers on a plane can be a nightmare – both for them and all the other passengers. Can you imagine then how the parents of a three-year-old girl felt when her tantrums had them thrown off a plane in America?

Julie and Gerry Kulesza were taking an internal flight to Boston when staff made the decision to remove them and their daughter Elly from the plane after Elly refused to settle. The problem was the three-year-old's refusal to sit in her own seat, as per aviation regulations.

'The flight was already delayed 15 minutes and in fairness to the other 112 passengers on the plane, the crew made an operational decision to remove the family,' said AirTran spokesman Judy Graham-Weaver. ' 'She was climbing under the seat and hitting the parents and wouldn't get in her seat.'

Elly's parents protested, saying that they hadn't been given enough time to settle their child; ' We weren't given an opportunity to hold her, console her or anything,' said Julie.
