Libby Sharp is the dynamic founder of one of London’s leading physiotherapy practices, es physical health. Based in Harley Street and south London, Libby’s sound yet innovative approach to therapy has earned her business an excellent reputation with her clients and fellow health professionals and clinicians alike.
The business now employs 10 physiotherapists, 4 massage therapists, 2 Pilates instructors, 1 yoga teacher, a podiatrist and 4 admin staff and is recognised as one of the country’s leading physical health enterprises.
Libby is a recognised expert in the field of back pain.
She explains “The skeletal system is a series of bones balanced one on top of another. Good posture – which can help prevent back injury and pain - can be described as the position in which the least amount of muscular effort is required to maintain the skeleton in the upright position.” Libby and her team work with clients using a variety of techniques with the ultimate aim of creating good posture, thus preventing the recurrence of debilitating injury and pain.
In her role as Clinical Director Libby mentors all the therapists working for her and oversees the ongoing training of all the therapy staff ensuring the very highest standards of care are maintained. She also lectures on the Masters degree course at University College London.
Libby is a qualified Pilates instructor and has been instrumental in developing Pilates as a rehab tool in recent years. She has a special interest in treating dancers and performers and has worked with over 20 West End shows from Starlight Express to The Lion King. She ran a practice at the Millennium Dome in 2000 and was actively involved in selecting and auditioning the 80 performers that made up the spectacular aerial show.
She is also involved in looking after student performers and es physical health runs on-site clinics at The Urdang Academy and The Circus Space. Libby has lectured nationally and internationally on Dance Medicine and is a well-respected expert in the field. She has also worked with many professional football clubs including Arsenal, West Ham and QPR and rugby clubs including Harlequins, Richmond and London Scottish and she is a leading expert in Isokinetics.
