Live Birth Shown on BBC

The first live natural birth on UK television has been aired on the BBC.

It took place during Friday morning's episode of City Hospital, which is broadcast live from Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals in London.

Baby Ariel was born to mum Nicole and both were reported to be doing well, while the family asked for their full names to be withheld. The first live birth - by Caesarean section - was broadcast on Five's two hour special on 8 October.
