Miracle Babies is a collection of heart warming stories to give hope to all those trying for a baby. It was written as a result of Gilli Moorhawk's own 4-year struggle with infertility, which included 5 pregnancy losses, two ectopic pregnancies- this led to the surgical removal of both her fallopian tubes leaving her unable to conceive naturally; plus one failed IVF - so Gilli understands just how important hope is for the increasingly large number of couples who have problems conceiving - 100,000 couples in the UK alone.
Miracle Babies is designed to give hope to women struggling with infertility - to know that even though their problems may seem difficult other women in worse situations have gone on to have the baby they longed for. It features stories from women who have suffered all aspects of infertility and pregnancy loss, miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, still births, explained fertility, unexplained fertility, polycystic ovaries, fibroids, IVF, yet against all the odds eventually had the baby they longed for.
People who haven't experienced fertility problems can often be thoughtless without realising it and this extends to members of the medical profession - one contributor was told by a doctor as she was being wheeled into surgery following a failed miscarriage that he'd 'Clean her out good and proper so the next one would stick'.. 'Clean me out.' She said later. 'I didn't know I was dirty!'
