Mums are turning away from female nannies in their droves.
Following the high profile cases of stars having affairs with their children's nannies - Jude Law and Robin Williams to name but two - it seems women are turning to male nannies in greater numbers. A survey of 1500 families found that 9 out of 10 would happily consider hiring a 'Manny'. Almost 80% of the mothers surveyed worried that hiring an attractive nanny would place their marriage under threat. But fathers seem to be less insecure and are more self-assured; only 50% of them would worry about hiring a good looking male nanny.

Mannies are extremely trendy amongst celebrities - high profile women who employ them include Britney Spears and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Oliver Black, director of childcare providers Tinies said more families were willing to consider a male nanny or a man working in their child 's nursery. 'Our research shows that the threat of an attractive female nanny is certainly an issue and it is a factor in increasing the demand for male childcarers. Attitudes are certainly changing, and mothers especially are now more than happy to leave their children in the care of an experienced and qualified male child carer.'
