The Hungry Caterpillar is one of the biggest selling children's books ever written by Eric Carle. Similarly to my own experience, it was loved by adults as children and now as parents to their own little ones. For babies, a great first christmas book has to be the The Hungry Caterpillar's Christmas 123, a multi-coloured abridged version of the original tale while encouraging numbers. I also highly recommend the Large Developmental Elephant. The elephant is also taken from the original tale, and is a soft plush toy designed to stimulate baby's senses and encourage early development. For little ears there are a variety of sounds including rattles, crinkles and squeaks, and for little hands there are multiple textures to explore along with mirror and teether rings. The board book is priced £4.99 and elephant is £27.99 from Amazon.
For some stimulation, the Light Sound Lotty Playmat is ideal for assisting baby's development. It's an all in one playmate and gym with an impressive 16 interactive features including a variety of textures, sounds and added entertainment along with components to help build strength and muscle.
