5 Reasons You May Be Struggling To Lose Your Baby Weight
Do your efforts to lose your baby weight seem to be getting you nowhere?

These are the top 5 reasons why you may not be losing your baby weight as quickly or consistently as you would like to & what you can do to change them!

Bullet 'Well last time I went on [insert latest diet craze or established slimming programme] it worked. So I'll just do that again'
It worked so well, you have to keep going back on it. Hmmm. Any diet you have to 'go on', you will at some point have to 'get off'. And you're soon back where you started. Unfortunately, most of those diets are unsustainable, sometimes unhealthy, boring, complicated or leave us hungry. (Which I suppose means, um, unsustainable ).

I know it's stating the obvious, but it's a hamster wheel so many women find themselves on, that maybe it's time to take a step back & re-focus your efforts on something more sustainable.

Bullet 'For this reason [insert 'exceptional circumstance'], eating healthily & exercising won't work for me'
Feel like it's out of your control? A physiological condition, an emotional issue or a logistical obstacle - whatever it is, it makes you somehow the exception to the rule. However insurmountable your own circumstances may feel sometimes, we can still choose to work

with our lifestyle, family & work commitments, food intolerances, even depression, injury or disorder & try to improve health & fitness within those constraints. OR we can just throw our arms in the air, with a' See? TOLD you it wouldn't work for me'. Even if movement, money or time is extremely limited, there's almost definitely something you can do to make a positive difference to your health. Eating fewer calories than you expend works. If you eat better food & move your body more, you WILL feel better. And every little helps.

I know that making it 'simple' doesn't make it 'easy'. Far from it sometimes. But it is simple.

Bullet 'This exercise plan I'm doing doesn't work'
The key to any exercise or weight loss plan working is consistency. You're not going to lose your baby weight by sticking religiously to a plan for a few days at a time. If bad weather, a bad day at work or a bad mood is an excuse to miss a few days... & then you try again for couple of days, & then give up completely because clearly, that plan 'didn't work' right?

The key is consistency. Boring but true! Just buying the book, paying your membership or turning up to a class once a fortnight won't cut it. You have to DO IT. Regularly, consistently & over time. Chances are that then, it'll work.

Bullet 'I've tried all these diets & nothing works!'
Are you a diet book addict? Enthusiastically embracing every new diet concept or celebrity diet craze every few months, always disappointed & disillusioned with the last, but convinced this has to be *the one*? ALL diet plans are based on getting you to eat fewer (& hopefully healthier) calories. Many ingenious & bizarre ways have

been devised to help you do this - from cabbage soup, to shunning whole food groups, to reading your face, your blood group or your horoscope.

Clearly we are not designed to exist eating only one food type & such diets are unhealthy & totally impractical for long term. They are designed to be quick fixes & by definition unsustainable. Many however are based on making healthy food choices & they will 'work' in the sense that if you do them, you'll drop weight. But none of them are going to work if you don't actually do them, & if they're not something you can do for the long term, then they're only ever going to be a temporary, frustrating solution.

Bullet 'But I Always Choose Diet Meals or Meal Replacements Shakes'
These choices are not real food. They're expensive & again, temporary. Protein shakes & energy drinks may be helpful for bodybuilders or endurance athletes, but for the rest of us pure water is the best hydration before & during exercise. And real, fresh unprocessed food is the best nutrition. Eat an apple & a handful of Brazil nuts after a workout & leave liquid food to the astronauts & bodybuilders.

Ready meals designed to be 'low calorie' or 'low fat' have had excessive sugars or other additives added to make them palatable. Save your money & opt for real food instead!

The ironic fact is that many of the diets or exercises programmes you've tried probably do work, Because reducing the amount of

calories you consume & increasing the amount of calories you expend by exercising DOES work! But rather than flit from one diet or exercise programme to another, making excuses, buying into crazy claims or magic ingredients or quick fixes, the only way postnatal weight loss is really going to last, is to try to IDENTIFY & then CHANGE your habits when it come to eating & moving. For good.


The MuTu System works. Drink more water, reduce the sugar you eat, practice a little portion control & start moving every day, enough to get you out of breath for at least 15 minutes.
