Half of Parents 'Dislike' School Holidays
New research claims that more than half of all parents 'dislike' school holidays; with 76% of mums and dads saying that it is because of the childcare 'stress'.

1,213 parents in the UK were polled to find out what they thought about the school holidays and a shocking 51% admitted that they actively 'disliked' them! It seems that the school holidays are causing parents more stress than anything and they hate the 'hassle' of having to 'book a large amount of annual leave' from work. A surprising 12% of parents said they found the 'extra mess' made by their children in the family home, too stressful.

The survey results also showed that nearly 20% of the parents polled believe that the school summer holidays should be 'shorter' than the usual six weeks. This was strange as nearly a quarter of the parents felt that the school Christmas holidays should be 'longer.'

Nearly half of the parents polled worry about money during school holidays because of the additional costs incurred entertaining their children or paying for childcare.

14% of parents have also called in to work 'sick' during the school summer holidays!
