Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have at last had their twins! Their baby girl and boy were born on the couple's 3rd wedding anniversary. And believe it or not, the couple are still planning on renewing their wedding vows tomorrow. Their daughter was born first, weighing in at a healthy 5lbs 3oz and their son was delivered next. At 5lbs 6oz he was also a good weight for a twin. As yet the children have not been named.
Mariah, who is 41, had had several 'false alarms' over the past few weeks. Her 30 year old husband Nick Cannon drove her to the hospital this time and it is said that they were both quite calm. Their spokesperson said that the couple listened to Mariah's song 'We Belong Together' after the birth.
Cannon has already tweeted: 'My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won't ever be able to top this!'
The couple have been married since 2008. Mariah said that she had a miscarriage shortly after their marriage and disclosed that it was a terrible time for her. Nick too said that the miscarriage was 'really tough'. Not too unsurprisingly, Mariah has already said that it is unlikely that she will have more children.
Mariah and her husband have homes in both Los Angeles and New York and have already got fully-equipped nurseries in both homes.
In an interview recently, Nick Cannon said: 'I have a newfound respect and admiration for my wife - seeing what they go through; I could never do that. My hat's off to her, she's been amazing.' He said that after his wife's miscarriage, he told her: 'Don't worry baby ... God's gonna bless us in an even bigger way ....And now we have the abundance of two babies.'
Congratulations to the celebrity pair!
