A recent survey has revealed that one in ten parents say they don't want another baby as they are worried they 'won't love' a second child as much as their first. Respondents to the study of 1,271 parents-of-one in The UK were firstly asked 'do you want to have more children?' to which the majority, 49%, answered 'yes', compared to a quarter who said 'no'. 28% of the remaining respondents were 'unsure'.
26% of those who said they didn't want any more children said it was because they 'can't afford' more children; whilst a further 21% simply 'didn't want' another child. 11% of those who didn't want a second baby admitted that it was because they were scared they might not love their second child as much as their first.
Of those who who were worried about loving another baby, the majority (62%) were men. Furthermore 68%, of these respondents were only-children themselves. Food for thought?
