Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban had a baby girl last month via a surrogate mother. The 43-year-old Oscar award-winning actress and her husband, who is a country and western singer, already have a 2 year old daughter, whose name is Sunday Rose. Their new daughter, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, was born on December 28 and even though the baby was carried by a surrogate, the two are her biological parents.
Miss Kidman said: 'No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.' The couple rented the top floor of the Centennial Women's Hospital, in Nashville where they live, to make sure they had privacy for the birth.
Nicole also has two adopted children, Isabella, 18, and Conor, 15, who live with her ex-husband Tom Cruise and don't even call her 'Mum'. Miss Kidman has said that she intends to take a six-month break from work to spend time with her growing family. She has had two miscarriages in her attempts to have babies. Once in 2000 and again in 2007.
Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick had twin girls by a surrogate last year amidst a flurry of interest. Nicole's younger sister, who is a TV presenter, gave birth to her fifth baby, a son called Nicholas, last month too.
