At last, after months of constant on-off speculation, Mariah Carey has confirmed that she is pregnant.
In recent weeks, the 40-year-old singer has been papped wearing maternity dresses and has been overheard talking about her favourite baby names but has steadfastly refused to admit she was pregnant. On the US Today show at the weekend, the worst-kept Hollywood secret ever was confirmed by the lady herself; 'Yes, we are pregnant ........ It's been a long journey. It's been tough because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy.'
She confirmed that she had suffered a miscarriage in 2008 just after marrying her hubby, 30 year old Nick Canon. She said that she had an ultrasound on the day they were supposed to have been breaking the news to their families and the doctor told them that the pregnancy was 'unsuccessful'.
She said that she was badly affected by the loss of their baby and spent a lot of time crying. However, Mariah is now around three months pregnant but is refusing to divulge the due date.
Apparently the pair discussed baby names way back at the beginning of their relationship and those names are the ones they are sticking with. But guess what? They're not telling anyone what they are.
