Breastfeeding A Baby With Teeth
Some babies are born with one or two teeth, though most don't get their first tooth until six months.

There’s no reason why teeth should interfere with breastfeeding as the gums aren’t used for feeding - the pressure comes from the tongue below and the palate above.

Whether or not your baby has any teeth, he may try the odd bite when he's around six months or older and he will be very interested if you make a big fuss. Say 'no' firmly and gently take him off the breast. If you smile, he may think you like it and do it again! A few babies think it’s a good game.

Some babies bite only towards the end of a feed. You'll get to know when he’s about to bite, so take him off the breast before he starts. Some babies bite from frustration if the breast is too full or there isn’t enough milk, in which case just deal with the underlying problem.
