DNA tests have proved that Alfie Patten, who the national newspapers reported to have conceived a child when he was 12, is not the baby's father. Alfie from Eastbourne is now 13 but when his 15 year old girlfriend Chantelle Stedman, fell pregnant, he believed he was the dad and she confirmed it.
The DNA tests have however now established that another boy from Eastbourne, who is 15, is the father of Chantelle's baby. Alfie is said to have been "extremely distressed" about the results of the test.
The results of the DNA tests have been made public following a judge's ruling after an initial blackout.
Pictures of Alfie, holding the baby he believed to be his newborn daughter, caused uproar after they were published in The Sun in February and once again there were calls for better sex education for pupils in Britain.
Amongst other politicians, Tory leader David Cameron said he found the sight of "children having children" extremely worrying.
