A few games to entertain the kids on October 31st when they get back from trick-or-treating!
Apple BobbingPlace some apples in a bowl of water and the trick is to try and catch one with your hands tied behind your back only usingyour teeth! One really messy but fun variety of this game is taking a 50p from a bowl of treacle.
Wrapping the MummyDivide the kids into two groups and pick one from each group to play the 'mummy'. The children have to race against each other to wrap the mummy with toilet paper. There can be a winner for the quickest or the best or no winner at all. Make sure you tell the children NOT to wrap the head or the face though. You can also, if she's willing, use a real Mum to wrap!
Pass the OrangeLine up in teams. The first person in each team is given an orange to place under his chin. He must pass the orange to the next in line but neither is allowed to use hands. The first team to get the orange all the way to the last person is the winner. If the orange drops, just pick it up and continue from there. For a seasonal touch, this game can also be played with a plastic pumpkin!
Spooky SpellingGive each child a pencil and paper and see who can make the most words using the letters in 'Halloween' or even harder 'Pumpkin'!
Ghost HuntYou'll need lollipops, ribbon, paper and tissue paper. Each ghost is a lollipop covered with tissue paper, tied with ribbon. Use a marker pen to add eyes and a mouth to the ghosts. Divide the kids into teams and give them clues to find the ghosts. Don't put the ghosts too close together or the game will be over quickly. Make sure that each child gets a ghost at the end of the game.
