Real Nappy Week
A new report shows up to 35% of mums are buying reusable nappies.Ten years ago, only 2% of mothers were purchasing reusable nappies. This figure has risen dramatically as up to 35% of mothers buy reusable nappies today. Over 2,600 new and expectant mums were surveyed and the results clearly indicate that the popularity of reusable nappies is on the increase. Bambino Mio, the UK’s leading nappy manufacturer is experiencing a huge demand in their products, in line with this massive growth.
Reusable nappies are becoming increasingly popular for a number of reasons. We are all becoming more environmentally conscious and using real nappies is a great way of reducing your carbon footprint, considering that it takes a disposable nappy in a landfill at least 300 years to decompose. Local councils all over the UK are offering incentive schemes to help reduce environmental impact, where you can receive cashback for buying reusable nappies. Parents are realising the multiple benefits of reusable nappies, which explains the growing number of people purchasing them.

Most reusable nappies are made of 100% cotton and so are better for baby as well as better for the environment. Reusable nappies as a product have evolved and are convenient and easy to use. Another major advantage is that they are more cost-effective than disposables; parents could save up to £600 during their child’s nappy wearing life.
With ‘Real Nappy Week’ just around the corner, now is the perfect opportunity to learn about real nappies. From 21st-27th April various events will be taking place throughout the UK.
