It would seem that....

Easter is seen more as a family occasion than a religious one nowadays. For the majority it is a chance to get family or friends together. 25% said that they see it as a good excuse to eat lots of chocolate!!

Singles are much more likely to buy Easter eggs for themselves than married adults, with women only slightly more likely to do so than men

Easter eggs and flowers/plants are the most commonly bought Easter gift for adults over miniature eggs and other themed easter boxed chocolate.

Men are prepared to spend more than their female partners on their Easter eggs.

Spend on boxed chocolates is higher than for Easter eggs.

A quarter of men spend over £15 on Easter boxed chocolate.

Nearly all respondents questioned receive an Easter gift from somebody, with Easter eggs being by far the most common gift received.

Easter eggs are bought more on impulse based on what is being sold in store as opposed to a fully planned out shop for a specific brand
