New Babies For Tragic Corfu Families

New Babies For Tragic Corfu Families

A year ago two British children tragically died in a Corfu hotel from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The children had been on holidays with their divorced dad Neil and his partner Sharon, both of whom were also hospitalised after the tragedy. A year on both Neil and Ruth, and the children's mother Sharon and her new husband Paul are celebrating the birth of new babies. Both couples gave birth to children within days of each other, coincidentally both weighing the same. Neil and Ruth had a daughter Ruby Ella born on 17 January. Sharon and Paul had son Luke on 2 February.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Sharon says: ''We're overjoyed. We're going to make the most of every single moment because you never know what might happen. Just hearing a baby cry in the house is such a delight. Every baby is precious when they're born but these are just so special to us because of what we've lost. Life has been given easily but it was taken away easily as well. A new baby doesn't end the grief but it does give us a ray of hope for the future.'
